Phnom Penh, October 26th, 2021 – Cambodia Academy of Digital Technology– CADT (formerly National Institute of Posts, Telecoms, and ICT – NIPTICT), with the support of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, CBRD Fund, and Smart Axiata, have organized the Final Round Judging for the Cambodia ICT Award 2021.

On the auspicious occasion, joined by six honorable judges, name as Mr. Lim Dararith, President of the American University of Phnom Penh, Mr. Sovann Yao (Yuya), CEO, Huawei Technology (Cambodia), H.E Dr. Van Munin Chhieng, CEO of Khmer Enterprise, Ms. Meloney C.Lindberg, Country Director, The Asia Foundation, Mrs. Mila Jivkova Kusheva, Chief Marketing Officer, Smart Axiata, and Mr. Francois DU TOIT, Chief Information Officer, Chip Mong Group. The participation also includes more than 20 innovative startup’s business sharing their prospective business with the competition.

For the Final Round Judging, the 20 finalists are all required to present their innovative solutions and followed by the interaction with the judges during the Q&A session. “ I am honored to be a judge for such a meaningful event. I get to know more deeply about what is happening in the Cambodia tech field, especially the startup and local innovations.” said Mr. Sovanna Yao, CEO of Huawei Cambodia. As Cambodia has been working toward becoming an e-government, the emerging digital startups have played an essential role in driving innovation technology in the country. Aligned with this vision, CADT who is actively being the organizer committee has expressed the ambitions which aimed to be at the forefront in leading Digital Technology and Innovations, nurturing digital talent and innovators to drive Cambodia toward a digital society.

Cambodia ICT Awards is the largest annual national ICT recognition event in the Kingdom of Cambodia with four main objectives:

  1. Recognition: To provide national recognition for the achievements and successes of digital innovations in the ICT sector in the Kingdom of Cambodia.
  2. Motivation: To motivate innovative uses of digital technology in all ministries, local private companies, startups, social enterprises, NGOs, and other relevant institutions.
  3. Promotion: To raise digital awareness and ICT in the public and bridge the digital gap in the business communities, between people living in the cities, provinces, and rural areas, contributing to the development of ICT in the Kingdom of Cambodia.
  4. Opportunity: To allow showcasing the achievements in ICT, and investment opportunities to become representatives of the Kingdom of Cambodia in regional and global ICT awards.

This annual competition aims to support Cambodia’s startups’ ecosystem, and entrepreneurs have arranged to give the award under six categories: The Best Digital Innovation Organization, The Best Social Innovation Technology, The Best Digital Content, The Best Digital Startup, The Best Digital R&D, and The Best Digital Government Service.

The competition has been held successfully under the efforts of all stakeholders, partners, participation, and organizing committees who all took part in making this award event happen.

Cambodia ICT Award committee hopes that this competition would be playing a role as a supporter to push digital startups to keep striving to be pioneers, discoverers, and disruptors in producing the best product/services for the digital society in Cambodia.
